Family activities are good for the family by providing family bonding time for family members to grow closer. However, because many families are busy and funds are limited, finding the time to participate in family activities can be a challenge. Also many families live on a tight budget finding the money to participate in family activities can also be difficult, but doesn’t have to be. Try some of these activities on your next family day to save money.
Have a family game night. While board games do cost money, cards are cheap. And, if you invest in a board game you can possibly get years of use out of the game and play it over and over. Make sure to pick games that every member of the family is capable of playing and that aren’t too difficult. Young children and older children sometimes can’t play the same types of games, but some games are good for everyone.
Rent movies and have a family movie night. Make microwave popcorn and pass out to everyone in the family. This is much cheaper than going to the movie theater. Movies can be rented for cheap. Sometimes finding a movie that every member of the family will enjoy is a challenge, but it is possible. Plan on starting the movie by 6 or 7 p.m. ifyou have young children because they have an early bed time and will be tired.
Family activities are something every family should consider doing, but some families don’t always have the financial resources to have family nights. Family activities don’t have to be elaborate and can be cheap with some careful in advance planning.
