Mental Health Resources for Parts of Africa and Latin America

Some countries, such as Africa and Latin America, lack the necessary resources for those suffering from mental health disorders. At Stepping Together, our organization is trying to change that by providing more professional therapists and doctors to help decrease the number of people suffering some mental health. Different ways of helping would be medication, therapy or group therapy, or tips on how to control the issue. Our non-profit organization is currently working with East Africa and some Latin American countries. Our goal is to have more resources available to reach out when they need help. Causes of Mental Health

As of 2020, mental health in Africa and some Latin American countries have been at an all-time high due to various situations, not including the global pandemic. For decades, mental health problems have been going on without the proper resources to treat them. The top challenges for mental health in these counties are caused by poverty, war and conflict, insufficient resources, lack of awareness, and other diseases. Stepping Together is trying to correct these numbers by providing therapists to treat:

Anxiety
Stress
Schizophrenia
Other Psychotic Disorders
Bipolar Disorder

Mental health is described as the emotional, psychological, and social well-being of someone's mental state. This is important for people’s safety and others around them.
